Eek!

There have been several mountain lions spotted in Iowa in recent years (including the first female one back in 2017), and now one of the animals has been seen wandering near downtown Des Moines of all places.

KWWL reports that a video has surfaced showing a mountain lion near Interstate 235 and 31st St. The Iowa DNR has confirmed that it is, in fact, a mountain lion.

The last time the animal was seen in the Des Moines area in 2012, police ended up fatally shooting it.

This time around, police are hoping to resolve the issue without injuring the mountain lion. Authorities are working with the Animal Rescue League and Blank Park Zoo on the matter.
