Well, this is unsettling.

Men's Health reports that the Social Science Research Network recently did a study ranking the 48 continental states and Washington, D.C. by the number of people who exhibit psychopathic personality traits.

The word "psychopath" is defined as a person having violent or abnormal social behavior. Typically, when you think of a psychopath, a madman or murderer comes to mind, but obviously, those are stereotypes and only a fraction of a much deeper issue.

Most psychopaths show low levels of low neuroticism, high extraversion, low agreeableness, and low conscientiousness, and personality surveys testing these traits were conducted back in 2013. The results were fairly interesting.

Overall, the District of Columbia ranks as having the highest number of psychopaths (read into that what you will). Iowa and Illinois don't fare much better, with Iowa coming in at number 18 and Illinois at number 10. Certainly makes you take a second look at each person you come into contact with on a daily basis.
