Are you staying afloat out there?

I've only lived in the Quad Cities for about a year now, but I'm told that this week's flooding is exceptionally bad. According to official reports, we might even break the flood record set back in 1993.

It's heartbreaking to see businesses being forced to shut down, and definitely frustrating trying to navigate the road closures and detours. But on some level, it's also fascinating to look at – particularly because of how fast it's moving.

Here's the vantage point from my window, just 12 hours apart.

The water expanded outward several feet overnight, and driving through it is proving to be a struggle, even for the largest of vehicles.
