When you find yourself driving along Avenue of the Cities, is it easily navigated? If not, you just might like these proposed changes.

According to the Quad-City Times, Avenue of the Cities might turn into a two-lane road with a middle turn lane. The idea came about – and was widely supported at a public workshop last week over at the Moline Public Library.

As of right now, this is just a suggestion. It may or may not make it into the final presentation to the city, but that's still a few months away.

I'll admit, I don't drive along Avenue of the Cities enough to know how a middle turn lane would affect the traffic. But, according to the Times' report, "pedestrian safety is a big issue and the walk-ability of Avenue of the Cities has not been great historically."

What do you think? Will a re-route of the Avenue make a big difference?
