Best 5 Places To Pop The Question In The Quad Cities
Proposal season is just about upon us and for QCA folks planning to pop the question, there are some lovely settings you can propose in.
Fall and winter is known as 'cuffing season' since single folks want to be locked into a relationship during the festive months but that's because it's mainly proposal season.
According to Shane Co., 44% of engaged couples got the ring and asked the question at some point from Thanksgiving to Valentine's Day.
The bride-to-be life is probably a hot minute away from me yet, but consider this good advice from a gal's perspective if you're thinking about asking your partner the question soon and don't want to travel a long way to do it.
Where To Ask
The setting really does mean a lot when it comes to a proposal. She'll remember it, you'll remember it, and if you have the forethought to get a hidden photographer, they'll have to have a good vantage point. So here are a few really good proposal spots in the QC if you're planning on popping the question in the next few months.
5. Festival Of Trees
If you're really going all-in on the holiday Hallmark proposal thing and you're thinking somewhere indoors is best, Festival of Trees might be a good option.
4. VanderVeer Botanical Park
With or without the Christmas lights, VanderVeer has a lovely conservatory and beautiful outdoor flowers that would make for a great proposal backdrop.
3. LeClaire Park
Or anywhere along the QC riverfront that has a scenic view of a bridge and the river.
2. A QCA Ice Rink
Maybe it's because I'm a figure skater but this is a great late fall/winter proposal spot. Frozen Landing in Bettendorf, The River's Edge in Davenport, Riverside Park Lagoon in Moline, or Clinton's seasonal ice rink. Hey, if you're going to propose during the festive season, might as well go all-in on it.
1. Quad City Botanical Center
Like VanderVeer, you have options with indoor/outdoor settings and you're almost guaranteed to be surrounded by pretty flowers and/or Christmas lights in either situation.
Of course there are plenty of beautiful state parks on the outskirts of the QC, like Wildcat Den and Black Hawk State Park that have lakes and leaves that would make for a lovely fall proposal backdrop.
