We got a whiff of good weather recently and it was not enough for me!  I'm ready for warm weather...but I'll settle for just a big celebration reaching into 2 states and several cities with several thousand people participating.  Is that too much to ask?

St. Patrick's Day is Coming!!

St. Patrick’s Day is a huge party in the Quad Cities. We’re home to the only Bi-State St. Patrick’s Day parade so you know we take it seriously. Especially this time of year every bar turns into an Irish Pub and every person in the Quad Cities turns Irish or at least wishes they had a little bit more Irish on the 23 & Me.
As we prepare for one of the best holidays of the year, we took a dive through the reviews and search results to come up with a list of bars you may want to consider when planning your St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
But first…what makes a bar an "Irish Pub"? There are plenty in the Quad Cities that “sound Irish”. But what does it take to be an actual Irish Pub?
According to Wikipedia: "Irish pubs are characterized by a unique culture centered around a casual and friendly atmosphere, hearty food and drink.
They go on to mention Irish sports, and traditional Irish music but very rarely do you see this happening in America unless it's this time of year specifically for the St. Paddy's Day Party!
So, we'll focus on the former description where a good time will be had around good people. Mostly likely Corned Beef & Cabbage will be added to the menu whether it’s a normal staple or not. But we give points for trying anyway!

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!

Quad Cities Live Music Venues That Aren't Live Music Venues Anymore

Nostalgia Alert!.

We've compiled a quick list (by no means comprehensive) of venues in the Quad Cities that are no longer music venues but to us will ALWAYS hold a special place were we saw some great shows and made some incredible memories.

To many of us the live music scene wasn't just a concert here & there. It was an every weekend affair. And it didn't matter if it was a touring band or your buddy's band. We were going to be there with a beer in hand and scream along with guitars that were way too loud in a room that was improperly treated acoustically and make some bad decisions.
