California is losing residents left and right and it's pretty obvious. People are leaving so often that there is a website to help them move called ExitCalifornia.org. Ouch!
The Golden State continues to give its residents numerous reasons people to leave but folks are moving all over the U.S., including Wisconsin. In case you didn't know, California and Wisconsin differ in many ways; so much so it will be a rude awakening when the Californians move in next door to their new Wisconsin neighbors.
A Lot Of People Are Leaving California
There are so many reasons people are getting the heck out of California. Forbes reported that California lost 817,669 residents in 2022 which more people than it welcomed that same year.
The Los Angeles Times reported that California lost over 700,000 more people than it welcomed between April 2020 and July 2022, according to PODS.
People are moving out of California because of the expensive housing market...
Extremely high taxes...
The cost of living...
Crime rates, pollution, homeless population, and many other reasons are also why people leaving California as soon as possible.

According to Stacker.com, California residents were the third-highest population from a different state to move to Wisconsin in 2022.
What some Californians don't understand is just how different Wisconsin is from where they are coming from. There are really good differences, bad differences, and just flat-out different characteristics between the two states. I mean, they eat a lot of cheese in Wisconsin, not the healthy stuff.
