Can You Make a Pretty Fake Cake For Rock Island Production?
The fondant gauntlet has been thrown down. Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island needs your help to make prop cakes for their upcoming production of "Just Desserts".
If your "cake" is the best in show, you could win tickets to "Just Desserts". Even just for entering the contest and submitting a cake, you'll get a discounted ticket. Basically, if you're crafty and like to find excuses to make stuff, or if you want ways to keep the kids entertained, here's an option.
Circa's show, "Just Desserts", is about a baking competition so you have the chance to create the winning "cake"!
Feeling crafty? Here are your guidelines:
- The "cake" should be between 8 and 16 inches and diameter and cannot be taller than 18 inches.
- Don't use logos.
- Don't use perishable food items either. (Remember, it's a prop!)
- DO use a bright and colorful palette.
- Be creative!
Once you've finished the culinary masterpiece, it's time for judging. Take it to Circa 21 box office (which is at 1828 3rd Ave in Rock Island), open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
Your deadline to submit a "cake" is March 7. Circa will announce the winner on March 18, the opening night of "Just Desserts", and will reach out to you with how to get the tickets.
Think you're up for the challenge? To enter, email Samantha Flipp (samanthaflipp@gmail.com) and include your full name, company name if it's applicable, your phone number, and your social media handles. You'll get back more details about the contest and she can help answer questions.
