Actor Charlie Sheen will reportedly give a surprising, unfortunate health update in an interview on NBC's Today this morning. The show's site cryptically says that Sheen will, quote, "make a revealing personal announcement," but TMZ claims the film and TV actor will be announcing an HIV-positive diagnosis.

The scheduled interview comes on the heels of an alarmist story from tabloid the National Enquirer that claims they learned, over an 18-month investigation, that Sheen has been "hiding" his diagnosis and "potentially spread the devastating virus to dozens of unsuspecting women." One certainly hopes the magazine's report on Sheen's "cover-up" is pure speculation, if he is indeed living with an HIV infection.

Sheen's most recent TV series, Anger Management, ran from 2012 to 2014. He co-starred on the immensely popular CBC sitcom Two and a Half Men for eight seasons, but was replaced by Ashton Kutcher after Sheen's contract was terminated in a "moral turpitude" clause invoked after trips to rehab and conflict with show creator Chuck Lorre.

The Today interview will air this morning and video will be available shortly thereafter — stay tuned for updates.
