It's a beaut, Clark! Chevy Chase made an appearance at a Chicago-area Raising Cane's and recreated a classic scene from "Christmas Vacation".

Like many folks, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" is my favorite Christmas movie. It's so quotable and perfectly captures the dysfunction of the holidays from family issues to well-intentioned stuff just going flat wrong.

ABC7 Chicago says Chevy Chase stopped by Raising Cane's in Morton Grove, Illinois to bring it some Christmas spirit in a very Clark Griswold way.

But first, they were worried if Clark Chevy would get there in time.

The scene that Chevy Chase recreated from the movie was the infamous one where his 25,000 imported Italian twinkling lights wouldn't light up...until his wife Ellen figures out what circuit they're plugged into.

"They're Not Twinkling, Clark".

Chevy did ultimately make it to Raising Cane's and once the lights lit up the restaurant, of course, the choir began to sing the "Hallelujah Chorus", as happens in the movie when the lights finally come on. No word on if the local authorities had to kick on the ancillary nuclear backup as happens to Clark in the movie.

Unlike Clark's 25,000 lights, Chevy plugged in 13,000 lights at Raising Cane's on Tuesday night.

The Morton Grove Raising Cane's is at 6881 Dempster Street.

If you can believe it, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" turns 34 this year. It was released into theatres on December 1st, 1989. And here's a fun fact for you: Remember dear Aunt Bethany from the movie? She was the voice of Betty Boop.
