Now here's a wedding with a story.

The wedding industry is unbelievably expensive. According to PEOPLE, the average cost of a wedding in the Chicagoland area was $54,190 compared to the national average wedding cost of $33,000.

That's a car.

But a Chicago cocktail bar is putting a dent in the prospective cost of your wedding. Hoste Cocktail Bar (in the Pilsen neighborhood) is now offering a "Shotgun Special" package.

It's a pretty nice package, but the catch: the date you pick has to be within the next 4 months.

Hoste's "Shotgun Special" package includes:

  • Ceremony and/or reception for up to 150 guests
  • 3-hour open cocktail bar with two signature drinks (along with house drinks and mixers)
  • Lounge furniture, DJ stage, green room suite, tables and chairs, sound system
  • 7 hours of venue access (including setup)
  • on-site manager, coat check, security, and cleaning included

In wedding price-talk, that's quite a bit for $5,000.

But, as with anything, there are some stipulations, the "fine print" as Hoste is calling it. Besides that the wedding can only be booked 4 months prior. It's also BYOB, up to 23% service charge and taxes, you can bring in food from your favorite vendor or use one of Hoste's preferred caterers, or you can upgrade something (more guests, more bar time, cocktail hour extras, etc).

The 'Shotgun Special' is available for a limited time, according to Hoste, but there's no mention of a time it will expire.
