When you think "Christmas tradition," what springs to mind? For me, it's two things: reindeer dust and Christkindlmarkt. (I'll explain the reindeer dust later, promise).

Christkindlmarkt has been a staple in Chicago and Naperville for years. But that's a bit of a far drive for Quad Citizens, so last year, the Quad Cities finally got their own. And, to the surprise of no one, it was a hit! As a result, the festive market is returning once again this year.

According to the Facebook event page description:

This free annual event celebrates our community’s German heritage. Like traditional winter markets around the world, the Quad Cities Christkindlmarkt is an artisan craft and gift market with German music, European foods, international beers, and artist demonstrations and performances.

Personally, I love looking at the nutcrackers at Christkindlmarkt. The craftsmanship is just stunning, and the quality is impeccable.

You can check out this years market at Freight House Farmers' Market from December 6-8th.
