Davenport, Bettendorf Buses To Provide Free Transportation On Election Day
A group of local transit agencies are making sure you can get to the polling place.
Metro, Davenport CitiBus, and Bettendorf Transit have announced that they will be allowing all passengers to ride the buses for free on Tuesday, November 3rd. It's part of a regional effort to help get people to the polls to vote.
The fare-free rides will be across Metro, CitiBus, and Bettendorf Transit fixed-route buses, paratransit, and microtransit buses for the entire day. Every ride will be free on November 3rd, no matter where you're going. You won't have to show any voter registration, ID, or proof of voting to ride for free.

Metro, Davenport CitiBus, and Bettendorf Transit all said in the joint statement:
Access to transportation should never stand in the way of anyone casting their ballot. By removing the cost of a ride on Election Day, we hope to make it easier for every member of our community to get where they need to go.
The free rides are only one piece of the puzzle to boost local engagement. The three agencies said it's part of "a broader, ongoing commitment to equitable mobility and civic engagement throughout the Quad Cities".
You can plan your trip by checking either Metro, Davenport CitiBus, or Bettendorf Transit websites or calling their customer service lines.
Before you head out to cast your vote on Tuesday, you're encouraged to double-check your polling location and voting hours ahead of time through your county office or state election website.
