If you live on the Iowa side of the QC and love Chick-fil-A, you'll have to cross over into Moline to get your fix for a while.

Davenport's Chick-fil-A on 53rd Street will be temporarily closing for a remodel starting on April 20th. They'll be updating the kitchen and drive-thru and will officially close for the remodel at 9:00 p.m. on April 20th. The idea is that the new equipment and layout will help them handle "the volume you have so generously provided us".

I suppose the timing of the remodel fits in with the rest of the improvements on 53rd since there's been so much road work going on out there. So hopefully within the next few months the roads and businesses along 53rd will be shiny and new. The Facebook post announcing the closure says that there will be a completely new kitchen and since the closure isn't until April 20th, you still have time to get out there if you must have your chicken nuggies.

That's the mysterious question right now. The Davenport Chick-fil-A hasn't announced when they expect the remodel to be done but it could take "several months" because it's so extensive, according to the Facebook post. You can keep up with their progress on their Facebook page.

Meanwhile, if you must have your waffle fries while the Davenport Chick-fil-A is closed, you can visit the Chick-fil-A in Moline, which is at 3831 41st Ave Drive, or there's also the Chick-fil-A in NorthPark Mall.
