Last night around 12:47am, Davenport Police responded to Genesis West in reference to a report of a shots fired incident.

Officers responded to the Genesis West Emergency Department lobby and discovered that two individuals, identified as 21-year-old Gsani Bogan and 19-year-old Fasheed Rush, were fighting when shots were fired. Multiple bystanders were present at the time of the shooting.

In a rapid response, officers quickly located both parties involved.

"A preliminary investigation indicates that while in the Emergency Department Lobby,
Rush punched Bogan in the face causing a physical altercation," a press release from the Davenport Police Department reads. "While fighting, Bogan produced a handgun and fired two shots with one of the shots striking Rush in the leg and causing property damage in the lobby. No bystanders were injured during this incident."

Gsani Bogan, 21-year-old, has been charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury,
Reckless Use of a Firearm, and Carrying Weapons.

Fasheed Rush, 19-year-old, has been charged with Simple Assault.

"The rapid response by officers, and the swift action of hospital staff placing the facility
in lockdown, certainly had a positive impact on safety and scene management," the report said.
