A Davenport distribution company has donated hundreds of gallons of sanitizer to Quad Cities first responders.

According to our news partner Local 4 News, O’Rourke Sales Company is stepping up big time in the Quad Cities to help out during the coronavirus pandemic. The owners of the Davenport distribution company told Local 4 News that they saw the need for sanitizer and other supplies, and they wanted to do what they could to help.

On Tuesday, O’Rourke Sales Company delivered hand sanitizer and Happy Joe’s Pizza to the Bettendorf Police Department. Jacob O' Rourke told Local 4 News,

"It was something; it was the least we could do to help those who truly need it. They’re on the frontlines. They are exposed every day. Obviously, the nurses, doctors and other health professionals need it too. We just wanted to make sure that everyone has a chance to be safe."

Bettendorf Police Chief Keith Kimble told Local 4 News that the extra 10 gallons of sanitizer that O' Rourke donated will help their supply. Chief Kimble said that the donation means a lot to the Bettendorf Police Department.

“It’s very overwhelming when you see the community and people like this step forward to support first responders.

Our officers really, really appreciate when people do this. To be able to provide these safety items and disinfectants to keep them safe. Words cannot express my thanks"

-Chief Keith Kimble

Local 4 News says that O’Rourke will distribute supplies to East Moline, Davenport, Moline and Rock Island first responders.
