When I was in elementary school in the 90s, it seemed like every girl in my class was named Jessica or Jennifer. For boys, classic names like Andrew were all the rage. These days, your kids probably have a few Aidens and Avas in their class.

The Social Security Administration releases a list of the top baby names every year, along with a state-by-state breakdown of popularity.

According to Huffpost the most popular baby names in Iowa for 2018 are Harper and Oliver. What's unique about Harper, in particular, is that it's not the most popular name in any other state, unlike Illinois top girl pick, the uber-popular Olivia.

Illinois' most widely used name for boys is Noah, which has also found popularity in Texas and California. Other top names around the country include William and Charlotte- perhaps a nod to the Royal Family.
