Eastern Iowa Concert Venue Issues Ticket Buyer Warning
People are trying to take money from you at every turn it feels like. We all love to go to concerts and we hate the fees most venues place on us anyways. You need to be on the lookout for where you're buying your tickets because it could be taking money straight out of your bank account.
A concert venue and theatre in Eastern Iowa has issued a 'ticket buyer warning' for several of its concerts. Even concerts that we are giving you tickets to for free. You don't need to worry about us but you need to lookout for third-party sellers selling tickets for an outrageous price or selling invalid tickets.
Iowa Concert Goers Beware
On Monday, officials with the Adler Theatre (136 E 3rd St, Davenport, IA) released a statement warning people about buying tickets to concerts and events on secondary resale sites.
Officials say that with the continued increase of the secondary “resale” ticket market, the VenuWorks-managed Adler Theatre has experienced a rise in the number of invalid tickets presented at their events and additional issues created by third-party vendor tickets, such as significantly increased costs, an inability to make changes to the purchase, and not receiving important show information that is distributed to ticket purchasers.
The Adler Theatre says that the only authorized ticket points of sale for them are online at www.ticketmaster.com (or via the Ticketmaster app), the official site of the Adler Theatre at www.davenportlive.com (which will link you directly to Ticketmaster), or in person at the venue box office located at 136 E 3rd Street, Davenport, IA, 52801, open Monday – Friday from 10 AM until 5 PM.
These third-party sites can cause you to either buy tickets for a much higher price than they are being sold for through our official ticketing service or tickets that are either never delivered/transferred or are completely fraudulent. The Adler Theatre is unable to honor, replace, or refund invalid tickets, and we are not able to assist in any ticket changes.
Lance Sadlek, Executive Director of the Adler Theatre said in the warning statement:
“When acquiring tickets for events at the RiverCenter/Adler Theatre, be sure to make your purchases through the Davenportlive.com website. Any other online ticket distributor is through a third-party seller. Acquiring tickets from a third-party vendor is almost always more expensive and greatly limits your flexibility to do such things as exchange seats for an event.”
