Eastern Iowa Man Cashes A Huge Scratch-off Lottery Prize
The holiday season is about spending time with family, giving gifts, attending festive events, and scoring a ton of cash thanks to the Iowa Lottery.
With the holiday season upon us, the Iowa Lottery has introduced several new scratch-off games with a holiday season theme. Each game, like normal scratch-off games, has a different grand prize that anyone would be happy with any time of year.
A man in far eastern Iowa can't be mad about scoring the first grand prize of this new holiday scratch-off game. He just won himself a quarter of a million dollars and there are plenty more of those prizes waiting for others in Iowa to win.
The Iowa Lottery announced earlier this month that an eastern man has won a $250,000 prize in a new Iowa Lottery game.
Michael Blaser of Bellevue won the first top prize in the "Winter Winnings" scratch game. With Blaser winning that grand prize, that means there are only two $250,000 prizes ready to be won. Winter Winnings also has six prizes of $5,000 and overall odds of winning is 1 in 2.64.
Blaser purchased his winning ticket at the Kwik Star located at 962 62nd St. in Marion. He claimed his prize on Monday, November 4th at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.
If you lose this holiday season with the Iowa Lottery, officials say that from now until 9:59 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2024, players can enter nonwinning holiday-themed scratch tickets for a chance to win $1.1 million in cash prizes. Sounds like a good deal, especially if you win that $1.1 million.
