More Families Could Be Moving To Illinois In 2025
You might be getting new neighbors in your Illinois neighborhood this year.
A new study revealed the best and worst states for raising a family. Illinois was placed in the top 10 best states due to its abundance of things to do, good education, and affordability.
As a dad myself, I would consider moving to Illinois after finding this out. But growing up across the river from Illinois, my Iowa ignorance won't let me. However, plenty of other families will most likely pack up and move to the Land of Lincoln to be in one of the best states to raise a family.
Finding The Best States To Raise A Family
To find out which states are better than others for raising your family, the financial company, WalletHub, compared the 50 states across five key dimensions including:
- Family Fun
- Health & Safety
- Education & Child Care
- Affordability
- Socio-economics
After doing the math and ranking the states, they found that Illinois is the 7th best state to raise your family.
Why It's Perfect To Raise Your Family In Illinois
Sure, when you think about Illinois, you might think about how crazy it might be to live so close to a massive city like Chicago. But Illinois offers more than big-city living. It is actually full of quaint, small towns in rural areas with smaller populations (if you're looking for that).
Illinois is a great place to raise a family for a few reasons pointed out in this study:
- Illinois has the 3rd highest median family income
- There are a lot of family fun things to do in Illinois
- The Illinois education system is good
- It's more affordable than you think to live in Illinois
If you're looking for new scenery and somewhere to lay your own roots, maybe take a look at moving to Illinois.
