After much delay and speculation, a Firehouse Subs spokesperson gave the QC Times a "tentative" opening date for their Davenport location.

We may want to take the news with a grain of salt, however, since the chain had previously set opening dates back in February and April that have since come and gone. It seems from comments on the restaurant's Facebook page, that QC residents have all but given up on the restaurant finally opening its doors:

"I've never seen a restaurant take this long to open. Missed the last 4 tentative dates so why expect anything different."

"Wow just wow over a year to open amazing."

"Getting a bit ridiculous. Has been no site progress in the last month and a half. Clearly a permit issue."

Considering the chain did announce its Davenport restaurant last May and the building has been sitting there appearing to be ready for a while now, it is a little strange that it has still not opened. However, I'm sure there are valid reasons behind it.

So will the restaurant open on May 21? That remains to be seen, but we are keeping our fingers crossed.
