Food, Glorious Food, Downtown Daveport

Food trucks with flare have entered the downtown appetite. Have you smelled it yet? The new food truck area downtown Davenport? It's awfully tempting to pull over and get some. I saw lots of people lined up the other day across from the Adler. And then, it happened.

I rolled down my window. (cue the singing: 'ooohhhh, that smell!')

The City of Davenport has begun a new pilot program and so far, so good, it seems. If the lines outside of Static Melt, La Flama and Streets of Italy trucks were any indication, I'd say this is going to be a huge hit for our city.

Food Truck Tuesday happens at different locations in the downtown area all throughout September and the City is hopeful to have a more permanent plan by Spring 2017.

According to WQAD.com,

The goal of the program is to get people out of their offices, out of their houses, and walking around downtown Davenport, while trying a mix of food at various food trucks.

The next Food Truck Tuesday is September 13 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at East 2nd Street near the Government Bridge.

I love that there are 9 total food trucks that will be implemented into this pilot program. Can't wait to try them all. Have you found a favorite yet?
