Legendary Comedian, Gilbert Gottfried, Has Died
Legendary comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away at the age of 67.
Gottfried's family announced his passing on social media Tuesday. In the post his family said,
"We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our believed Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband. brother, friend, and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert's honor."
The post is signed with love by the Gottfried family.
According to TMZ, while it is unknown if Gottfried died in the hospital or at home, there had been reports he had heart issues back in 2020.
Gottfried's career began as far back as Saturday Night Live in the 1970s. He has done countless voice-over work and was a standout in the movie "Beverly Hill Cops II" where he starred alongside Eddy Murphy.
Gottfried's voice is one of the most iconic voices, especially in the genre of comedy. With his death, Gottfried leaves behind his wife, Dara, who he married in 2007 and his two kids, Lily and Max.
RIP to Gilbert Gottfried. You will be very missed by many beloved fans around the world. Our condolences go to his family and friends everywhere.
