‘Hamilton’ Coming to Iowa
The show everyone wants to see (or see again) is coming to Iowa.
I love Broadway. I've loved it since I was a little girl. I used to sit on top of the clothes line 'T' bar at my house in Rock Island and sing songs from Oliver at the top of my lungs. I remember acting out scenes and being outside in my imaginary Broadway 'worlds' singing and dancing, not knowing that every time, I was putting on a show for the neighbors.
My love for singing and dancing continued and grew worse with every show I saw. I was ecstatic to take part in musicals in high school, like Bye-Bye, Birdie and Les Miserables. I didn't care if it was a local rendition or the real deal, I went to as many things as I could go to.
The real thrill for me, was being able to take my daughters to Chicago to see Carole King's Beautiful last year. Watching them watch it was just as much fun as being at the Oriental Theatre, seeing it live.
We still talk about it and they can't wait to see more. Luckily, in Iowa, we get that chance this year.
According to DesMoinesRegister.com,
Des Moines Performing Arts plans to release the full list of all dates for all performances, including 'Hamilton' on March 20th, 2017.
Looks like I better start planning our next Broadway adventure.
