How Many Celebrities Do Iowa and Illinois Produce?

In a recent list put together by MSN.com, all fifty states were ranked based on their production of celebrities. Some states, like New York, were ranked predictably, but other states were a little surprising.

Take us here in the Midwest, for example. Considering Iowa and Illinois are known most notably for producing corn, pigs, and bad politicians, it's understandable that other states might think they can glance past us, but we actually hold our own better than they might think. After all, both states are in the top third of the whole country.

According to the article, Iowa ranks #12 for celebrity production, the most notable celebrity being Ashton Kutcher (according to Twitter). Better yet, Illinois ranks #3 for celebrity production. Illinois's biggest claim to fame is Ludacris (according to Twitter).

So does that mean the Quad Cities gets to claim both of them? Either way, let's consider that a win for the Midwest. And who knows? Maybe our biggest celebrity yet is on his or her way right now.
