Everything You Need To Know About Red, White and Boom!
Independence Day is almost here and the Quad Cities is celebrating the birth of America just like everyone else: with a bunch of fireworks. Every year, the Quad Cities is host to several fireworks shows in communities throughout the area. But the the show everyone wants to be at is Red, White and Boom!
Red, White and Boom! is great because fireworks get shot off of a barge or two sitting in the Mississippi River. Plus, there's food trucks, beverages, live music, baseball, and everything else as American as you can imagine going on.
Navigating a busy downtown Davenport and Rock Island can be a little stressful. To help you with your Red, White and Boom! fun, we have all the details about this year's event.
Red, White and Boom! 2024
Get ready for the big 4th of the July fun! The annual bi-state Red, White and Boom! fireworks show and event will be held this year on Thursday. July 3, 2024. Family-friendly activities will take place that evening in downtown Davenport, Iowa, and Rock Island, Ill.
Fireworks will be shot off that night, in sync to music broadcast on 97X, from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River. Spectators can watch from free viewing areas along the riverfront including LeClaire Park in Davenport or Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. Bring your own lawn chair.
Parking For Red, White and Boom!
Davenport: City parking ramps in downtown Davenport will have free parking from 5 p.m. - 12 a.m. There will be no parking allowed south of the riverfront railroad tracks. Be aware of street closures along the riverfront area.

Rock Island: Parking on the street and in the city parking lots are free.
There will be plenty of activities on both sides of the river for families to enjoy ahead of the fireworks display. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Here are some of those activities:

Free Live Music
LeClaire Park Bandshell - 6 – 9:30 p.m.
- Back by popular demand, Identity Crisis will be jamming on the Bandshell stage. This classic rock band covers all of your favorites.
Food Vendors
Beiderbecke Dr. - 6 - 9 p.m.
- Enjoy tasty treats from various food vendors including BBQ, funnel cakes, energy drinks, and more while listening to live music.
Kids Zone Activities
LeClaire Park - 6 - 8:30 p.m.
- Davenport Parks & Recreation has put together a full lineup with plenty of free activities to keep children entertained before the fireworks start.
Quad Cities River Bandits game
Modern Woodmen Park - First pitch at 6 p.m.
- Buy tickets for the ball game, watch the River Bandits take on the Cedar Rapids Kernels and after the game enjoy the fireworks from your seats.
