I-74 Construction Coming to an End in the Quad Cities

Is it true? Can we finally start looking forward to it all ending on I-74 this weekend?

There is nothing more inconvenient than the dreaded 'bridge check.' It's that glance you give as you near one of the bridges to see how bad the traffic is. I'll be honest, I have completely avoided I-74 during the height of the construction and traffic jams. I absolutely drove all the way around it.

I have added more commute time in getting places in the QC and after having been an 'avoider,' I am now ready for this bridge to be back in my driving routine.

According to WQAD.com,

"Contractors working on the final phases of the Interstate 74 bridge repair project are racing against the weather to get the Iowa-bound lanes finished and opened by this weekend."

Let's hope the weather holds off so we can have smooth sailing over the bridge this weekend. I may even just drive over it just because I can this weekend. #roadtrip
