Spring and summer in the Quad Cities means you must get outdoors. This place has everything.

There is nothing I love more than getting outdoors in warmer weather. Hiking is the perfect, little and local, 'getaway' from everyday, busy Mom-life.

Years ago, my Dad took me to this place just outside of the Quad Cities called Loud Thunder. I have some of the best memories there, from camping, hiking and horse back riding, to boating on Lake George, there's so much to do there.

Loud Thunder Forest Preserve is located in SW Rock Island County, in Illinois City, IL. The've  been working hard to make improvements and additions that will keep families using this priceless outdoor resource for generations to come.
