Back on July 19th, 2014, the Jarochs were married at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel in Chicago by "Father Bob".

"Father Bob" was none other than Robert Prevost, who recently became Pope Leo.

He Really Did: Illinois Native Becomes First American Pope

"Father Bob" officiated the wedding as a favor to Heather's late father (who was good friends with the Pope). He flew to Chicago from Peru to be at the ceremony before immediately flying back to South America to continue his missionary work.

Check out the wedding picture the Jarochs shared on the left:

Looks like the same fella to me!

Heather's dad was good friends with the new Pope. Whenever he was home in the Chicagoland area, the Pope would visit her family often, going out for dinner or catching a White Sox game.

Heather and Dominic remember "Father Bob" as being very humble, down-to-earth, happy and fun.

When They Found Out

Heather and Dominic were camping when they got a call from Heather's sister, Heidi. She told Heather "We have a pope! And it's Father Bob!"

Now, Heather and Dominic are enjoying looking through their wedding albums again. Dominic says he's still in shock, adding: "I mean, what are the odds? It’s like one in a million. I can say that I got married by the pope!"
