Illinois Junior High Band Teacher Honored For Helping Students’ Confidence
It's the Fall 2024 semester and we are heading out to schools with our awesome program with Nothing Bundt Cakes to honor and reward our awesome Quad Cities teachers and educators. It's called QC Teacher of the Week and we are so excited to announce this week's teacher of the week!
This week, we went to Rock Island to surprise a fantastic teacher.
Congrats to Derek Ross, Band teacher at Edison Junior High School in Rock Island!
Jaime Brown, a parent, nominated Mr. Ross. This is what Jaime had to say about her kid's band teacher:
Mr. Ross always brings a great energy to the classroom and makes learning fun. He encourages students to step outside their comfort zone and try new things. He’s great at making the kids feel great about themselves and their progress. He has pushed my son to learn and try so many new things since starting band last year. He is a great asset to the school and the students.
Mr. Ross teaches 7th & 8th grade band at Edison Jr. High. He was recognized because he encourages his students and is a great teacher! Awesome job, Mr. Ross!
For being our QC Teacher of the Week, Mr. Ross has been rewarded with a B100 Prize Pack including stickers, a glass, and more, plus an awesome cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Mr. Ross!
