Here's a good reminder to check your purse size before you head out.

Fair season is upon us and we're getting ready to enjoy multiple rides, fried delicacies, and great grandstand shows. Illinois State Fair is one of them coming up, from August 7th-17th in Springfield.

Whether you're camping out on the fairgrounds or coming to the fair from close by, there are certain items you need to remember to leave at home. Some of course, are common sense items: firearms, weapons, fireworks (sorry if that throws a wrench in your plans), but some banned items are ones that you might not think of.

The Peoria Journal Star looked at the banned items list, and a chunk of the ones that aren't allowed in the grandstand are to keep you from being obnoxious and disrupting the concert for other people. For example, you can't bring signs to hold up in the grandstand shows, which would keep people behind you from seeing the show.

Some of that common courtesy stuff I would hope we've thought of by now.

If you do decide to be funsies and bring prohibited items to the Illinois State Fair, they will be confiscated and thrown away. Police won't hang on to them for you, they're going in the trash.

You don't want your kid's pricey hoverboard in the trash, do you?

Scroll down to see the 19 things you can't bring to the Illinois State Fair, their grandstand, and what you have to leave in their campgrounds!
