Illinois Teen Dressed As Clown Detained In Homicide Case

It has to be the creepiest Ring notification ever.

There are a lot of reasons I wouldn't want to live in East St. Louis and this is one of them.

In what looks like a bootleg "Paranormal Activity" snippet, a Ring doorbell camera catches a very real teenager in East St. Louis walking right up to it and whispering into the camera "I have a gift for you". The teen is dressed like a clown.

The video is objectively creepy.

Neighbors say they saw the teen going door-to-door with a large knife that night.

The 15-year-old has been detained, according to NBC News, in connection to a homicide that resulted in the death of 78-year-old John Wesley Allen Sr. The St. Clair County Coroner’s Office determined Allen died of multiple stab wounds.

One neighbor around the house in the video said she was on the back porch when she saw the teen twirling the knife, roaming around for about 45 minutes before police arrived. The neighbor said of the night:

He was up to no good...We’re pretty positive he circled back around in these woods, because you could hear the sticks breaking.

Another neighbor said the teen went to his mom's home but she didn't answer the door.

The teenager hasn't been identified and it's not clear if he has been charged.

Police have obtained the full Ring video and are investigating the situation. Hopefully this doesn't signal the comeback of the 2016 clown sightings that often happened in woods in the Midwest.
