Illinois Woman Sentenced For Trying To Kill Her Former Wendy’s Coworker
It's taking your hatred for your coworker a bit too far.
We've all had coworkers that we just can't stand. If you've even said anything like 'I am going to kill you', it's likely out of momentary frustration. Not the case in Vermilion County.
Tichina Marshall, who worked at the Wendy's in Danville, Illinois, has been sentenced after she allegedly stabbed her former coworker 3 times in May 2025. The victim had been chatting with the manager of the location in an office when Marshall came in and told the victim "I am going to kill you" then stabbed her twice in the face and once on the top of her head.
You'll be surprised to learn that it's believed that Marshall and the victim did not get along when they worked together. Investigators found that Marshall had threatened to kill the victim a month before she attacked her, when they were still coworkers.

Because places like restaurants and stores don't take risks, the attack was caught on the Wendy's surveillance cameras and Marshall was arrested. She pled guilty to attempted first-degree murder and has been sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
Illinois judge Karen Wall said that 29-year-old Marshall will have to serve at least 85% of her sentence and it must be followed by 3 years of mandatory supervised release.
Meanwhile, the victim has not been publicly identified but she has worked with investigators in the case. She sustained severe head injuries and a fractured skull after the attack.
The lesson to be learned is not to kill your coworker but by all means, complain about them in the group chat.
