It should be a great feeling knowing you live in one of the happiest states in America. That means that not only are you probably a happy person, but so is everyone else around you. I know the lady who called me a motherf*$#er at Kwik Star on Saturday isn't one of them, but I sure had a good time yelling things back which made me happy.

Okay, maybe we all find weird joys in life or don't get our days ruined as easily as others, but at least this new study says that people in Iowa and Illinois are happy folks.

How did this new study determine that the two states that make up the Quad Cities are amongst the happiest in the U.S.? Let's take a look at what data they used to rank the states.

America's Happiest States Include Iowa and Illinois

In order to determine the happiest states in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states across three key dimensions:

  1. Emotional & Physical Well-Being
  2. Work Environment
  3. Community & Environment

They evaluated those dimensions using 30 relevant metrics and after doing some math, WalletHub ranked each state from happiest to saddest.

Both Iowa and Illinois landed in the top 20. Iowa is at #19 and Illinois is just ahead at #17.

A couple of fun facts to show how happy we are, Illinois had the 4th lowest share of adult depression and Iowa's divorce rate is the 8th lowest.

I'm glad we can all live in peace and harmony, and be happy Quad Citizens. Accept for that lady on Saturday. She can f*#k off.

Essential Winter Emergency Kit Items

Winter season in the Quad Cities means cold temperatures, heavy snow, and slick roads. Hopefully, you won't ever need to tap into your winter emergency kit, but it's better to have one in your car than to be unprepared. Make sure you have these essential items in your car before winter arrives in the Quad Cities.

You Could Own The Greatest House In The State Of Wisconsin

There's a home in Wisconsin that everyone in the state would call the best house on the market. The house is reasonably priced for the amount of money you could get out of it. Why does this house sound like a gold mine? Because it sits and looks directly at the heart of Title Town U.S.A., the legendary Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers.
