Iowa & Illinois Favorite Cereal Showdown: Which Is Your Favorite?
America loves our cereal and Iowa and Illinois are no exceptions to that.
I ate so much cereal as a kid. It's not the healthiest thing in the cabinet but it's a delightful sugary pile of whatever that just tastes right in the morning. My favorite was French Toast Crunch (R.I.P.) but I definitely wasn't picky. Even now, a bowl of Wheaties makes me feel like an Olympian.
All of America loves cereal, according to Google Trends, and a study by Zippia found out exactly what cereal each state loves.
The Cereal Breakdown
Not a surprise, most of the country prefers sweet cereals (except Missouri, who favors Raisin Bran. Someone go check on them). But you'll remember a lot of these cereals from when we were kids. I can still hear the commercials for some of them.
The study looked at Google Trends, to see what we're all searching the most for. The most popular cereal in the nation is Cinnamon Toast Crunch (an excellent choice).
Illinois loves Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Iowa prefers Cookie Crisp (which I haven't had since like 5th grade, but also not a bad one).
Most states had acceptable choices. Take a look.
Ignore Missouri though and their affinity for Raisin Bran. Apple Jacks and Cap'n Crunch are another two of my faves, the Honey Bunches of Oats just makes me think of that lovely lady in their commercials, and just about any variety of Cheerios is acceptable.
