Knowing that you live in a safe city probably lets you sleep better at night. Let's face it, not every city and town is perfect when it comes to safety but you definitely know which cities struggle more than others.
Residents in one Iowa city can feel a little bit better tonight after being named one of the safest cities in the U.S.
Not only is this city in Iowa one of the safest in America, it's actually the second most populated city in the state. Normally, when we think about more populated cities, we associate it with higher crime. Not this city.
Pack your bags, we're headed to Cedar Rapids where it's safer than many other cities.
Cedar Rapids Named One Of The Safest Cities
The newest study from WalletHub came out revealing the cities deemed the most safe and unsafe. They looked at 182 major metros across America and compared them across key dimensions and categories.
After doing the math, Cedar Rapids, Iowa was named the 7th safest city in the U.S.
Personally, when I think of Cedar Rapids -- especially during the spooky season -- this movie typically comes to mind...
Spoiler alert (not really because the movie has been out forever): the movie ends with them walking to Cedar Rapids after the military drops the nuke. I digress.
Cedar Rapids actually ranks really well in home and community safety and in natural disasters on this list. Financial safety could be better, but has anyone been financially safe in this economy since 2008 or the pandemic?
