Iowa Man Arrested For Sexually Assaulting an 11-Year-Old Girl

A disturbing story out of Des Moines.

WHO-TV reports that Twenty-two-year-old John Hayner Jr. is being held in the Polk County Jail on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in 2016.

Hayner was arrested on Monday. He faces two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

Hayner allegedly forced an 11-year-old girl to have intercourse and perform oral sex on him at a Des Moines residence for several months, between July and October of 2016. The police became aware of the abuse when claims were made against Hayner.

A judge has banned Hayner from speaking to the victim and anyone under the age of 18. His bond has been set at $50,000.
