Iowa State Police Are Pulling Drivers Over For This Common Winter Car Issue
Want to avoid a ticket? DON'T make this mistake.
WHO TV in Des Moines reports that Iowa State Police are issuing citations for cars with snow on their windows.
This winter has obviously brought plenty of snow and ice to the Midwest, so it's not uncommon to see vehicles covered after a storm. The state police normally don't give out tickets for snow covered windows, but having your view obstructed can lead to serious accidents, says Lieutenant Troy Baly.
You could score a $50 fine for not clearing your windows before you head out. So what are you supposed to do if you park your car outside? Well, if you haven't already, invest in a good ice scraper/snow brush, leave yourself plenty of time to clean off the car in the morning, and make sure your wiper blades are in good working order if it starts snowing while you drive.
