Iowa’s First Dry Bar is Now Open
The first dry bar in the state of Iowa has opened in the Quad Cities, and its name is perfect: Unimpaired.
The only non-alcoholic bar in Iowa, Unimpaired co-founder Amber Haines said in a media release,
We are giving people a healthier solution, helping them achieve the same sense of belonging that alcohol promises. This is one of the reasons so many people get stuck in the ‘drunk rut’ in the first place, wanting a sense of community after work or during happy hour. Camaraderie and a sense of belonging in a booze-free environment creates a sense of belonging and strength in numbers, whether it's at a sober bar or an lnstagram page.
Other than Iowa's first non-alcoholic bar, Unimpaired resembles any other bar with its bartenders, pool table, darts, live bands, karaoke, trivia, and, of course, a jukebox. You'll find it at 246 W. 3rd Street in downtown Davenport.
Your favorite drinks are still served with non-alcoholic substitutes. Gin & Tonic, Captain & Coke, Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, and my favorite, Margaritas. They also have things like the Campfire Smores, below. How good does that look?!
Unimpaired also serves food... pizza and salads. Their website calls it "Simply a place where you can enjoy the nightlife without the hangover the next day." You can see some of their drink menu below.
It's Iowa's first dry bar but if Unimpaired is a success, it definitely won't be the only one for long.
