Think car thieves will be taking a holiday this December? Think again. There's no question we have a car theft problem here in the Quad Cities, and the holidays are no time for you to take a break from protecting your car and the stuff in your car from thieves.

Teletracnavman.com was curious about car thefts on holidays and decided to do some research to find out what holiday has the most car thefts. They used data from the National Crime Information Center to put together a handy info-graphic detailing what they found.

Car thefts on holidays do decrease. Christmas day was the holiday with the least car thefts, followed by Thanksgiving and then Christmas Eve.

It's easy to keep your car safe throughout the holidays and every day. Many car thefts are crimes of opportunity. If you do the following you're making it harder on thieves: Don't leave your keys in the car (even in the garage), don't leave your car running unattended, lock your car, and don't leave valuables in plain sight.
