A man was disgusted and angry after he accidentally consumed his daughter-in-law's breast milk with cereal.

"My son is 15 months (just over a year) and as such is still nursing. I don't see the point in giving him cow's milk and freezing pumped milk so I just put my breast milk over his cereal or in recipes I'm going to make him. He does have cow's milk, just not regularly," the man's daughter-in-law shared on Reddit.

The woman explained the incident happened when her in-laws were staying at her house.

One morning, she served her young son cereal with her breast milk before leaving her father-in-law with the baby in the kitchen.

When she returned, she spotted her father-in-law eating the leftovers from her son's cereal.

"I laughed a little but went along with my morning," she recalled.

Later, when her father-in-law mentioned in passing that the cereal had tasted a bit weird, she casually left him know it was because it contained her breast milk.

"I swear he looked like he was going to keel over and vomit. He was angry and asked why I'd watch him drink it and not tell him. My [mother-in-law] stepped in and agreed, [saying] I know he 'finishes' everyone's meals and I should have told him beforehand," the woman shared.

The woman admitted she probably should have alerted him in the moment, but claimed that she also thought he saw what bottle the milk had come from when she poured the cereal.

In the comments section, Reddit users mostly agreed that everyone was a little at fault.

"You're not the [a--hole] for feeding your child but you are the [a--hole] because you saw your father-in-law eating it and LAUGHED instead of saying something... You thought it was amusing," one person wrote.

"Maybe father-in-law should stop eating other people’s food without asking. Serves him right," another chimed in.

"[Everyone sucks here] a bit. You should have told him immediately when you saw him eating your son's meal that he had breast milk in the cereal. But also, what full grown adult just helps them to any and all food they just see laying around, especially a baby's?" someone else asked.
