Marion Native Kiah Stokes Reaches Another Incredible Basketball Milestone
Many professional athletes have a trophy room in their home. Does Iowa native Kiah Stokes have one? She'd better start making plans, as the former Linn-Mar prep has won another WNBA title!
Marion Native Wins Another WNBA Championship
Kiah Stokes, who played her high school basketball at Linn-Mar High School, has won another WNBA title! CBS 2 reports that Stokes was a member of the Golden State Valkyries, who defeated the Atlanta Dream to win the franchise's first championship. Stokes has always been an elite defender, and in the clinching Game 7, she pulled down 13 rebounds and had two blocked shots. CBS2 reports that Stokes set a WNBA Finals record with 18 blocked shots in the series.
And Stokes is no stranger to winning in the WNBA. CBS2 points out that this is her fourth championship win! Stokes won titles with the Las Vegas Aces in 2022, 2023, and 2025 before joining Golden State.
Stokes Is A Winner At Every Level
Now back to that trophy room. CBS 2 reports that Kiah Stokes has been a winner at every level of basketball she's played. At Linn-Mar, she led the Lions to the 2010 State Championship. She was named the 2011 Miss Iowa Basketball and was the two-time Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year. She was inducted into the Linn-Mar Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
After being named a McDonald's All-American, Stokes played her college ball at the University of Connecticut, where she won three National Championships!

Stokes is under contract with Golden State through the 2027 season, so she can help the Valkyries try to repeat as WNBA Champions!
Congratulations, Kiah Stokes, on another amazing chapter in a basketball career for the ages!
