Is it a coincidence that this story is being written on a 'Taco Tuesday'? Perhaps. But an Iowa restaurant has been recognized as one of the best places to get tacos no matter what day of the week you decide to go!

Are These the Best Tacos in Iowa?

The food critics at USA Today recently named the Best Taco Restaurants in the United States, and an Iowa restaurant has made the list! The Des Moines Register reports that Tacos La Familia in Des Moines was named one of the best places to get tacos in the U.S. The family-run restaurant is credited with being a birria taco pioneer in the city of Des Moines, long before birria became a national trend.

What To Order at Tacos La Familia

According to the Register, taco lovers should order the tacos ahogados, tacos drenched in a rich birria consommé, or the classic birria tacos. Their classic street tacos start at $3 and feature proteins like carne asada, al pastor, barbacoa, and more.

The Register reports that the restaurant recently completed a move across the street from its old location and now features a full bar, entertainment space, and a catering operation.

When Can I Visit Tacos La Familia?
