In Ocean City, Maryland, a boater fell off of their vessel, which continued on at high speed, going in circles. The Coast Guard showed up to help with the runaway boat situation, and handled it perfectly.

The boat was going in circles in the middle of a channel, and the Coast Guard members got close to the boat, having to match its speed and rotation in the channel.

Once the Guard's driver got lined up just right, one of the other Guard members leapt from the guard boat onto the runaway boat, and was able to bring the boat to a stop.

According to Baltimore Sun, the owner of the boat, identified as Daniel Potter, fell overboard and has yet to be found.

Crews spent 20 hours searching roughly 2,539 square nautical miles, searching by sea and air. The search has been suspended.

The Coast Guard has reminded that wearing engine shut-off clips is required by federal law on most boats under 26 feet.
