Pantless Trespasser Asleep At German Retirement Home Turns Out To Be US Soldier
While I may not have served in the Army myself, I have heard many of the stories of being stationed in Germany, the beer capital of the world, and the antics that often came with stories of "taking part in the culture." None of the stories I've heard from people stationed over there ended with "and that's how I ended up in international newspapers."
A retirement home in Grafenwoehr, Germany had quite the scare when they found someone sleeping in a room that was supposed to be unoccupied. The man, who was pantless, just in his underwear and a sports jersey, was discovered when an employee was doing rounds delivering breakfast.

Investigators think that he wandered into the retirement facility during a shift change. The incident drew all kinds of media attention, with the news stories quickly circulating around the community of Army members in the area.
The garrison has referred all questions about the unit and identity of the soldier to the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
“We are working in close cooperation with our host nation partners to investigate the incident,” brigade spokeswoman Capt. Jennifer French said on Tuesday. “The soldier is with their unit, and we await the investigation’s findings before determining next steps.”
Authorities didn't report any injuries or damages from the incident.
Investigators are examining a possible connection between the soldier and a stolen license plate reported stolen nearby, with the suspect in the stolen plate being reported wearing a soccer jersey.
A spokesperson for the garrison said that usually there are military police patrolling the areas where soldiers go to party, to make sure no crimes happen and to help "disoriented" soldiers find their way home.
There still is no explanation of how or when the soldier lost his pants, but surely, somebody who knows him knows exactly when those pants came off.
