New Movie Starring Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, And More Filmed In Illinois
The old Hardees in town one day suddenly had a new sign, "Blake Junior's," with a gigantic head that looks suspiciously like John Goodman.
No, John Goodman isn't starting his own restaurant, and no, there actually isn't a restaurant at all. It was the set of a new film starring Goodman.
The movie is called Chili Finger, and it features an insane cast of A-Listers. Bryan Cranston, Sean Astin, John Goodman, Judy Greer all will adorn the poster and big screen for this one.
Chili Finger
Chili Finger is the story of a small town lawyer finds a human finger in her chili she blackmails the restaurant for a cash payout in an effort to regain control over her mundane life. The situation quickly spirals out of control and her life descends into chaos.
The Back Story
It's based off the 2005 case of Anna Ayala, who found a finger in her chili at a Wendy's, and was trying to make a bunch of money off of the franchise owner - until her whole case fell apart when nobody could be found at any point of the chili chain that had less than 10 fingers.
Later that year, Ayala and her husband admitted they planted the finger, and plead guilty to an extortion scheme. Her husband got 12 years and 4 months, and Ayala got 9 years, with both paying $21 million in restitution.
After getting out of prison, she reported her son being shot by two assailants, but it turned out that was a lie too, he shot himself by accident but wasn't allowed to possess a firearm, and right back to prison she went.
When Does Chili Finger Come Out?
The film will premiere in March at the SXSW Film Festival, and will hopefully make it's premiere for the rest of us soon after that.
We'll let you know when we find out where we'll be able to watch it.
