Storm Invites Community to Honor Veterans by Painting the Ice
The Quad City Storm hockey team, in collaboration with the IAM Union, is set to host its 7th annual Salute to Military Ice Painting event. This unique community gathering invites residents to personally honor members of the U.S. armed forces—both past and present—by painting their names directly onto the ice rink.
The painting event will take place on Monday, November 3rd, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Vibrant Arena at the Mark. Participation is free, and the Storm organization will supply all necessary materials, including paint and brushes. The painted names will remain visible on the ice for the subsequent Salute to Military Night game.
Special Game and Jersey Auction on November 8th
The decorated ice will serve as the backdrop for the Salute to Military Night game on Saturday, November 8th. For this special evening, the Quad City Storm players will wear unique jerseys designed to honor the United States Armed Forces.
Following the game, these special jerseys will be auctioned off to raise funds for two important organizations: Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines.
