An employee of the Naval Warfare Center in Panama City, Florida was mauled by a shark on Monday during a swim, and the whole thing was caught on video.

The employee, a civilian employee who has not been identified, was snorkeling with a colleague at the Naval Support Activity Panama City marina during his lunch break when the attack occurred, shortly before noon.

The video only lasts a couple of seconds, but it's enough to see this wasn't going to be good. The man's arms were severely injured before he was able to be rescued by bystanders. “His arm is severed off?” a 911 operator asked in the call that was released. “It’s there, but it’s not,” the caller replied.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he's recovering from injuries.
