If you say something is hip, does that actually make it not hip?  Cause hip really isn't something the kids say anymore.  I think.  I have no idea.

However, when I ask what the best new hip restaurants are in the Quad Cities, this is what I'm told.  So check out the places below and see if you still have what it takes to be "new" and "hip".

One quick note before you start commenting on FB..."new" is in the eye of the beholder.  Some of these are not that new, but to some, they are.  So just roll with it.

9 - Plus Saporis Mediterranean Latin Cuisine

Sounds hip.  And it's new.  This is located at 4808 Forest Grove Drive in Bettendorf.  Looking this up on Google Maps, I remembered that this used to be Terraza, which I went to once.  Obviously, that didn't last.  Now with something new, there might be a need to give it a try.

Described as "a family-owned restaurant providing wine, cocktails, and cuisine from all different regions."

8 - The River Room

Have you heard of The River Room?  Probably not unless you've been to the Hyatt Place in East Moline.  One review says, "The view is incredible. Comfy chairs. Luxurious surroundings. Didn't even know this place was part of the hotel."

7 - Brasero

When I put Brasero's address into Google Maps at 3871 Elmore Ave, I get Serman Williams.  Is this place so new and hip and underground that it's a restaurant in the basement of a paint store? No, it's not.  But the restaurant just opened in April, so it's not on the map yet.  But I found people talking about them on FB.

6 - The Phoenix

Hip...yes.  New...no.  But again, maybe for somebody reading this, it will be new to them even though they've been around since 2009.

The restaurant and martini bar is known for, of course, martinis and their cheesecakes.

5 - Aunt Bea's Cafe

Normally, you wouldn't think of a cafe as being hip, but welcome to Aunt Bea's Cafe.  With a 4.6 on Yelp, it might not be that new, but it might be the hip place to get your Cafe on at 2429 9th Street in Rock Island.

4 - Desi Monk's

I just noticed this place the other day in Cumberland Square.  So it is definitely new.  They say, "At Desi Monks, we are bringing the bold, authentic flavors of India to the heart of Iowa. Inspired by the warmth of Midwestern hospitality and the rich diversity of Indian cuisine, we believe great food brings people together."

Check 'em out at 2307 Cumberland Square in Bettendorf.

3 - Brew In The Village

I'd definitely say hip.  Tried to enjoy the patio the other night, and went at peak time, and all the tables were full.  Will be back cause it looked and smelled amazing.

BREW is a neighborly cafe & bistro in the charming Village of East Davenport. Come by to catch one of our many artistically inspired "brews."

2 - 1 Hundred West

The name seems pretty hip.  Like using the "1" instead of "one".  Good hip call.  This is the second restaurant on this list that is inside a hotel.

Located in the Best Western Steeple Gate, and with a 4.7 on Yelp, they feature a "Craft Cocktails Supper Club Inspired Menu."

1 - Stompbox Brewing

Good brews.  Good food.  Not incredibly new, but pretty new.  And for sure hip.  Check them out at 210 East River Drive in Davenport.

Thanks to Yelp for showing me all the "new" and "hip" places in the Quad Cities to check out.
