Luke Perry's death rocked Hollywood—heartbroken celebrities and fans grieved, his Riverdale cast mates mourned, the show halted production when the news broke Monday (March 4)—but aside from being a beloved actor, the 52-year-old was also the father of two children. And now his kids, Jack and Sophie, have to figure out how to live without their dad.

Though his son has yet to break his silence since Luke's passing, his 18-year-old daughter shared an emotional message on Instagram Tuesday (March 5).

"A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast," she began the lengthy note. "I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family, And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I."

"I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye," she continued. "So bare with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly."

Sophie had been spending time in Africa, working on community development projects. She was able to get back to the States to be with her family when news broke that her father had suffered a massive stroke on February 28.
